Software House Visit to HKS TechLab –
Vehari Campus (April 2025)
On 17 April 2025, the COMSATS Software Society at Vehari campus organised an industrial
visit to HKS TechLab, a rapidly growing software house specialising in cloud-based solutions
and business automation. The visit was designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning
and real-world practice, giving students firsthand exposure to professional software
development workflows, project management methodologies, and client engagement strategies.
Students toured the development floors, met with project managers, and engaged with
engineers working on active projects. During the interactive Q&A session, HKS TechLab
executives discussed the latest trends in bubble.io, low-code platforms, and AI-driven
automation, encouraging students to pursue practical problem-solving skills alongside
academic research.
One of the highlights of the day was the signing of an Industry–Academia MoU, aimed at
securing long-term collaboration between COMSATS and HKS TechLab. This agreement
covers internship placements, joint hackathons, and guest lecture series hosted by HKS
professionals. Many students described the experience as an eye-opener, noting how it
reshaped their understanding of software entrepreneurship.
The event concluded with a networking tea session, where faculty members and industry
leaders discussed the importance of nurturing entrepreneurial mindsets among undergraduates.
The initiative has already inspired CSS to schedule follow-up visits to other technology
companies in the region, ensuring that students remain connected to the evolving software
ecosystem in Pakistan.
