Industrial Visit to WeRPlay Gaming Software House – Wah Campus (May 2025)
On 21 May 2025, the Computer Science Department at Wah Campus organized an industrial
visit to WeRPlay Gaming Software House for students of software and game development
tracks. The aim was to provide exposure to the gaming industry in Pakistan, showing how
design, storytelling, coding, and UI/UX come together in an entertainment product.
Students were given a guided tour of WeRPlay’s facility, observed live production pipelines, and
met game designers, developers, and quality assurance (QA) testers. The visit included
interactive sessions where students could try out internal tools and discuss challenges in mobile
vs desktop platform deployment, performance optimization, and monetization models. The
company leadership spoke about emerging opportunities in local indie game development,
freelancing, and community-driven content. CSS used this as a jumping off point: students who
showed interest were encouraged to join mini-projects and game jams coordinated by the
society.
This event strengthened ties with industry, and helped many students better visualise career
options beyond “traditional” software roles—particularly in creative tech. Following the visit, the
society rolled out follow-up workshops in Unity and Unreal Engine, and a competition for game
prototypes to be judged by WeRPlay staff.
